Our Story
TAGIN, “I Speak Mom,” was founded with a deep passion to support youth and young mothers, particularly those from low-income backgrounds or transitioning out of foster care. The program was born out of the personal journey of Mary Rieves, who grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas, where she learned the power of mentorship and education through a youth employment program. This program instilled in her the values of discipline, integrity, and the importance of mentorship. It was here that Mary received guidance from a corporate mentor, which set her on the path to becoming a successful business owner and gospel singer.
Inspired by the lack of opportunities for youth in her community, Mary, along with her family, established TAGIN to fill that gap and offer the same kind of life-changing mentorship she had received. Her vision was simple: to empower young mothers and youth, helping them build confidence, self-sufficiency, and the tools they need to thrive. TAGIN has since grown into a vital resource for youth and young mothers, offering programs that focus on education, mentorship, and community support.
Through a combination of peer-to-peer tutoring, college prep, career readiness programs, and personal mentorship, TAGIN helps individuals unlock their potential and find their path to success. With a commitment to changing lives and strengthening communities, we provide opportunities for personal growth and empowerment that lead to brighter futures for all.
